Englitina offers an authentic virtual rendition of the English Concertina, designed for ease of use and reliable sound reproduction.

By tapping the "?" icon, users can access a helpful overlay displaying the note names on the buttons.

The "i" icon opens the settings interface, allowing users to transpose the pitch up or down by up to one octave in semitone steps.

To reset transposition, simply tap the number next to the transpose slider, returning it to zero.

It is important to note that transposing shifts the pitch produced by each note; however, the label on each button remains unchanged.

The control layout closely resembles the central portion of a standard Wheatstone English Concertina, encompassing all chromatic notes within a two-octave range from D4 to C#6.

Wheatstone engineered the English Concertina to align with traditional sheet music notation: one side is dedicated to notes on the lines, while the other displays notes between the lines.

This design facilitates playing, as English Concertinas produce the same note whether you push or pull the bellows, making it intuitive on digital devices like the iPhone.

Users interact with the instrument by touching on-screen buttons to produce notes. Proper technique involves holding the iPhone with both thumbs and little fingers, mimicking the grip of a physical English Concertina. The index and middle fingers are then used to press the buttons.

Scale patterns are arranged so that they alternate between fingers of the right and left hands. Higher-pitched notes are positioned closer to the center of the screen, with lower notes toward the outer edges.

The application also supports playing chords through multiple simultaneous button presses, enabling more complex musical expressions.
